My Purpose

My purpose as an artist is to nurture the artistic mindset and collective intuition of the community through education and performance. I want to work with extraordinary artists to tell extraordinary stories about extraordinary people in extraordinary ways. 

Through radical guidance, innovative character arc structuring and confidence empowering exercises together we will sharpen your instrument and unlock the dynamic and vibrant storyteller within you. 

My goal is to cultivate your precision, passion, curiosity for text, physical subtext and the psychology of the audience.

My role is to guide the artist toward textual discoveries that motivate active and engaging choices to play, and subsequently, fun for the audience to watch. 

Together, we will carry your technique, to the next APEX of your untapped potential. 

My approach and fundamental philosophy are steeped in a profound respect for the playwright's thematic intentions, the dynamics of audience psychology, and the actor's ability to shape time and space. Central to my ethos is the cultivation of an environment where creativity not only flourishes but also nurtures both the artistic landscape and the individual's confidence and ingenuity.

Through a collaborative methodology, I endeavor to help you unearth your creative strengths, dismantle any hindrances, and develop practical strategies to cultivate a broadened artistic perspective. Imagination is your strongest muscle and your most powerful asset. For  me, teaching embodies a harmonious integration of findings and creating yourself—a transformative odyssey we undertake together.

Vanguard Productions is an independent theatre company based in Milwaukee founded in 2022 by co-founders George Lorimer and Josh Pohja. 

Vanguard is dedicated to elevating Milwaukee's theatre scene and building community through innovative storytelling, effective minimalism, truth and beauty.

This past holiday season, Vanguard Productions debuted its first full production All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 by Peter Rothstein. Previous theatrical events include Antigone at the Calvary.
